About Us

Peninsula Rotaract Club was refounded on the 27th of April 2024 with 12 members. Our sponsoring Rotary clubs are the Rotary Club of Peninsula 2.0 and the Rotary Club of Rosebud Rye. Our club covers the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region, in Rotary International (RI) District 9815.

In our short time of being refounded we have bought a GPS of the Citizen Science Crew at Daangean and launched a habitat island that we built. We have also purchased and helped pack 70 toys with Westernport Community Support Centre in their annual Christmas Toy Drive and ran a Bunnings BBQ at Frankston Bunnings. Our next major project is a service trip to Nepal to support some of the local initiatives supported by the local Rotary and Rotaract clubs in Nepal. During this trip our members will be helping build a garden at the KOSHISH mental health facility as part of their KOSHISH Sustainable Food Production Project. We will also join and financially support The Fred Hollows Foundation on one of their village health camps and help paint a mural at a local high school in Kathmandu.

Being a part of the Peninsula Rotaract Club allows young people to contribute to the greater community as well as developing their own personal skills, however we understand that everyone has different commitments in their lives. Our club provides a flexible opportunity for individuals to contribute to the ongoing success of the club through varying levels of involvement by engaging in meetings, social and fundraising events, hands on projects and professional development activities. Rotaract is what you make of it!

Our History

Peninsula Rotaract Club was chartered on May 7th 2010 with 11 members, and had over 70 members in the 10 years since. The sponsoring Rotary clubs were the Rotary Club of Peninsula 2.0 and the Rotary Club of Seaford Carrum Downs.

Our previous club was involved in organising various fundraising events including trivia, cabaret and casino nights. They were involved in gardening for local residents, participating in Clean up Australia day, school working bees and other hands on projects. They also supported the global community through volunteer trips to East Timor and Indonesia and fundraising ventures like promoting local entrepreneurship through Kiva microfinance loans.

Members participated in professional development activities including first aid training, mentoring interactors, attending and presenting at a Rotary leadership camp (RYLA), going to local and national conferences and participating in Rotaract Club Officers Training.
